Airlite Foam Building

Fred and Rose Crosby of Omaha, NE purchased Airlite Plastics Company in February 1959.  At the time, the company was known as Air Light Products Company, with 20 employees and sales totaling $60,000 per year.  The company was primarily involved in manufacturing selling fishing bobbers.  Fred decided that it was time to look for an opportunity that afforded him more control over his destiny.  He began actively looking for a small business to purchase and after researching several business opportunities, one in particular peaked his interest.  It was a small manufacturing company called Air Light Products Company, Inc.  Fred wanted Air Light Products top be a company that showed loyalty to its employees and received loyalty from them.  He worked tirelessly to grow this family-owned business into family-oriented company, providing the highest quality products.

Through the years, the company has grown and expanded; purchasing the equipment needed to begin our EPS Division from Solar Plastics in 1961.  By 1962, Air Light Products Company became established as Airlite Plastics Company with combined sales reaching $1,000,000.  In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Fred's son Bob Crosby succeeded him as President and CEO.  At that time, the company had grown to 120 employees with a total of $3,000,000 in sales.

Today Airlite Plastics Company employs over 650 and operates in 820,000 square feet of production and warehouse space.  The company possesses a passion for technology, a penchant for innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit for charting new territory.  It has applied new technologies, developed new molds and molding processes, designed new products, and engineered solution after solution for its customers. This pursuit of progress has distinguished Airlite's history and shapes its vision for the future.

The Foam Division stand alone building's Grand Opening was commemorated with President George Bush visiting in 2002.  Our state-of-the-art plant allows us to manufacture the highest quality Foam Shipping containers in the industry at a competitive price.
